Northern Youth Leaders Endorse Tinubu For 2027, Raise ₦200m For Nomination Form -

The Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum has raised ₦200 million in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s expected re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group said the money is intended for the purchase of the president’s nomination form once the ruling party officially opens the process.
Speaking with journalists from Unfiltered Reporting, the forum’s coordinator and APC pioneer youth leader, Murtala Mohamed Garba, popularly known as Gamji, said the decision was taken collectively by youth leaders across Northern Nigeria.

According to him, the endorsement reflects the confidence of Northern youths in President Tinubu’s leadership and his administration’s policy direction.
Garba explained that the forum was formed about two years ago following advice from the National Security Advisor, with the aim of closing the gap between young people and government while encouraging active youth participation in governance.

He said members of the forum, drawn from different professional and economic backgrounds, contributed to the fund in support of the president’s second-term ambition and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We agreed as a body to come out on January 26 to endorse Mr President for a second term. As part of that decision, we also resolved to raise funds to purchase his nomination form, and we have successfully raised the amount,” Garba said.
He added that the forum’s membership cuts across Northern Nigeria and beyond, including professionals, artisans, traders and students, regardless of religion or ethnic background. According to him, the group believes continuity in leadership is important for national unity, peace and development.

Garba disclosed that the ₦200 million donation would be paid in full through the banking system, noting that the size and structure of the forum’s membership made the contribution possible.
He also said the forum is duly registered under the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) and remains committed to mobilising young people in support of the administration.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Tinubu Support Group, the Director-General of TSG, Dr Umar Tanko Yakasai, praised the initiative, describing it as a clear sign of political awareness and commitment among young Nigerians.
Dr Yakasai said the move showed that youths, particularly in Northern Nigeria, are ready to take responsibility and actively support leadership they believe in.

The ₦200 million cheque was presented to the Tinubu Support Group leadership at the president’s office on Kanji Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, on January 26.
